Travel to the Preserve to add new species to your birding life list. Even if you are a beginner you can enjoy the Preserve, as bird-watching in the desert can be easier than in other climates because the tree canopy is open and birds spend time on the ground or soaring.
Virtually all of the trails in the Preserve are fine for birding. More than 100 bird species have been found in the Preserve: click below to download a list.
Birds are most active in the morning and evening, so you will have the best luck if you arrive when the gates first open. Join a birding hike to learn more.
