History of MSC Stewards Program

When the City of Scottsdale began to acquire land in the McDowell/Sonoran Preserve it gave the responsibility of protecting and maintaining the land to the MSC. In the Fall of 1998, the 1st MSC Stewards class was held at Scottsdale Community College and the graduates began their Stewardship in November of that year. Since then we have grown to a Stewardship of more than 100 MSC Stewards and Assistant Stewards who devoted more than 5000 hrs of their time to the Preserve in 2003.
